Purposeful

Creating experiences of real value.

Pursuing goals that are worthwhile and meaningful, not disposable or meaningless.

  • Recognising that while nothing is sustainable indefinitely, consumption can be justifiable.
  • Remembering that sometimes we need to be bold in order to combat the environmental emergency, not always cautious.
  • ‘Fit-for-purpose’ – prioritising longevity rather than the short-term.
  • Ironically, what may be the most ‘purposeful’ is actually to be creating something ‘purposeless’ – or not of a fixed purpose. Flexibility and the ability to adapt over time to accommodate change of use produces longevity, and therefore ‘purpose’.

Because we can strive for something, does it mean we should?
